Welcome to the introduction of the Purchase & Supply Chain Toolkit 1.0.
Video Introduction
My name is Roger van der Molen and I'm located at The Netherlands, region Eindhoven.
I've been working 20+ years in the Purchasing, Supply Chain and Operations field. Starting out in the electronics industry and working over the years for several companies including Royal Philips Electronics N.V., I gained a lot of knowledge and experience related to Sourcing, focusing on areas of Purchase, Supply Chain, Operations and Business Management, in addition to my specific education at University level in these disciplines, inclusive APICS, the Association for Operations Professionals, CPIM (Certified
in Production and Inventory Management) certification.
In early 2009, I started my own company VanderMolen Sourcing & Interim Management to offer my services to the manufacturing Industry, as entrepreneurship is what I like. My qualifications include being a Sourcing Specialist and Interim Manager able to take up projects that require specific knowledge and experience in the fields of Purchasing, Supply Chain and Operations. Due to my management experience of 10+ years, I'm also qualified as an Interim Manager.
My personal statement or slogan, "Adding Value to You" demonstrates my drive to solve the problems ofthe client such the bottom line of the client shows the requested improvement.
Research Turned Up Lack of ResourcesWhat I noticed over the years is that limited specific knowledge and experience sharing takes place within the Purchase & Supply Chain community. Yes, lot's of theory books, magazines, articles, social media groups (LinkedIn etc)... etc exist; however, real specific practical knowledge and experience sharing between those on daily base in the field is still limited.
Therefore I decided to start putting all my
experiences and knowledge gained over the last 20+ years into electronic
format, eSources or ebooks. These ebooks are targeted to be sources
of information with real "Added Value" for those interested in
increasing their knowledge and experience, and to broaden their horizon. Packaged
together as one awesome eSource, the package has become a practical course-training
toolkit within the field of Purchase & Supply Chain.
With my Purchase & Supply Chain Toolkit 1.0 eSource sharing, the word "leverage" gets a
new dimension as why re-invent the wheel? Why should all newcomers fall
in the same pitfalls? Isn't it the aim to move on the stairs of professionalism
within the fields of Purchase & Supply Chain for all involved?
Even non Purchase & Supply Chain people can use the eSources to broaden their horizon, as Purchase & Supply Chain interlinks with all business processes and an integral view is key to create successful organizations and companies nowadays.
The scope of my eSources
covers all people who are from business and / or private points of view
involved in or at least interested in the Purchase & Supply Chain
processes. There is a common interest surrounding the buying of goods and
services, ie, the goods movement / information flow involved to get a smooth
supply from supplier to buyer and finally to the end-user of the goods/services
involved.
Due to my experiences within the manufacturing Industry the examples and cases I use are mainly linked to organizations or companies that focus on handling physical products (products assembled out of components, materials, subassemblies etc), but the concepts can also easily been applied for more non product related organizations and companies, as a lot of synergy will be valid across the board, as you will discover.
I worked hard this past year to get the eSources ready to release. And now, I can proudly say that the 5 eSources that complete the Purchase and Supply Chain Toolkit 1.0 are ready and available. Within this page and the next page I will disclose the topics to you that are addressed within these 5 eSources and what features and benefits you can expect.I'm convinced these are a great source for open minded fellow professionals in the field of Purchase & Supply Chain who want to increase their views and knowledge, etc. and also for non Purchase & Supply Chain people who are interested in broadening their scope.

"Hi Roger
I have enjoyed reading the e-book.
I would like to share my experience of working in a department where the supply chain was not integrated
and the procurement was a seperate function. When the integration was
done and everything was brought under the umbrella of supply
chain overall performance of the department and the company was
improved.
Therefore as you said "that it is very important for departments/employees must be put physically together in order to mimic the (sub)processes and bosses must be limited and made responsible for those (integral) (sub)processes."
Have a nice day"
Regards
Tehmina
